    • They believe the proposed treatment is important and relevant to their life (it makes sense) 
    • They have low concerns about the proposed treatment
  • If the patient has a good understanding of information about their condition and the recommended treatment, specifically
    • They can practically do what is being asked of them 
    • They have realistic expectations of treatment  
    • They understand what to do if they experience side effects
